It can be terrifying to learn that a Dependency and Neglect petition has been filed against you. This means Department for Children, Youth, and their Families (DCYF) believes that a child is not being properly cared for at home, and either want to supervise your children in your home or remove your children from your home. Parents charged with dependency, abuse, or neglect are entitled to be represented by counsel to help ensure that your children are not take away from you and placed in foster care, or if they have already been taken, to get them back home to you.

What can I expect?

The court may assign a Guardian-Ad Litem or “GAL” to look out for the best interests of your children. You will still need your own attorney to represent your interest, to make sure your family stays together, and your children are protected.

It’s best to hold off talking to the GAL or human services workers until you have Attorney Roderman working for you. I can help explain the situation, offer legal strategies, and speak on your behalf with the court and human services. I will do everything possible to protect your family.

Dependency and Neglect Petitions are sometimes brought together with criminal charges. This can be even more complex and can move quickly. Luckily, Attorney Roderman also handles criminal cases and he can represent you in both cases with a well-coordinated defense.

What can be done?

Empower yourself with strong legal representation. I can help you understand your legal rights, guide you through the proceedings, including how to conduct yourself at court hearings, and aggressively represent you in court. I can counsel you on actions and things you can do to recover custody of your child again.

I understand how frightening it is to think about the possibility of losing your parental rights. Dependency and Neglect cases are complicated and stressful. But I am here to advocate on your behalf. Dependency and Neglect Attorney in Florida, Glenn Roderman has the expertise and experience to fight for your family.

A true professional in his industry. Mr . Roderman's staff accepted my collect call from jail when no other attorney would. I hired him because he was the best "firm" , over all. He knew my judge personally as they used to be co-councels in the past , and so his many years in Broward may have helped me. The state wanted 33 months prison for me... and I got off with 18 months probation. Miricles can happen. Thank you Glenn Roderman. And thank you Norris Kimble. (Assistant)Also, they got close to know my family. And that's important too. I hope I never need you again. But IF I DO, I will call on you again.Ken LaFlammeread more
